New Locker Rooms are complete!  This addition to our facilities for female athletes is well-deserved. The PE Center will be rockin' this Fall!

Great Season Start!

We traveled to D2 Shepherd on Wednesday and had a great scrimmage game.  Over 90 minutes we scored 2 goals and did not allow a corner or quality chance to earn the shutout.  All our players played and did well against an athletic and physical opponent.  We'll close our preseason on Saturday with an intersquad game and begin classes on Monday.   Our opening regular-season game is at home on Thursday, Sept 1st at 7pm vs Bridgewater.

Picture Day!

Our roster is now posted and the 2016 team took some time today for photos.   As usual, it was a beautiful day for soccer on the Frostburg campus!  We start playing opponents this week as we travel to Shepherd for a 5pm scrimmage on Wednesday, 8/24.

Preseason 2016 Starts!

Finally, our preseason is underway!  For a coach, it's like Christmas Day!  We love playing under the lights on cool evenings here at FSU and tonight's scrimmage to end Day #1 of the 2016 season was terrific.

A Great Summer of Camps!

We've had another great summer of camps at FSU!  We had both new groups and some returners enjoy the terrific summer weather in the Mountains of Western Maryland.  Good luck in your Fall seasons!

New Locker Room!

The best meeting I had this year was with our engineer at FSU to design our new FSUWS Locker Room.  The animation below was the result.  30 custom wood lockers, new paint and carpeting with FSU logos, a leather love seat and ottomans, HDTV, white board, and audio system.  We made sure we included good WiFi and charging stations! We'll add some custom cabinets and a fridge as well.  And Yes - the lockers just arrived and are waiting to be installed!   Our players deserve this.  Thank you FSU and generous Alumni donors!

Grades Matter!

Our players just proved once again how important academic achievement is here at FSU and in our women's soccer program.  Our team just achieved a 3.48 Team GPA for the Spring semester!  That's one of our best-ever academic semesters.  7 players from our Fall roster earned perfect 4.0s -  Haley Dalphon, Dani Ferris, Melanie Bell, Brooke Longo, Rhianna Lapen, Gina Rock, and Chelsie McCoy.   2 freshmen and a Sophomore - Haley, Dani, and Melanie - have not gotten a "B" grade yet in college!   17 of our 25 rostered players earned a 3.5 or better.   It was a great Spring season for FSUWS and an even better semester in the classroom. 

Congrats Seniors!

A great weekend for our Senior class as they participated in commencement at FSU and will begin the next chapter of their lives.

FSU Sports Banquet!

A great end of year celebration for FSU Athletics!  Our Team MVP was Sr Brooke Longo, our Captain and 4-Time All-CAC center mid.  Photos here are of Brooke receiving her award from Jr Presenter Kelsie Folch, our Team and Sr Class.  Congrats Seniors!!

A Great Relay and Alumni Game!

The best alumni team to return to FSU in recent years gave the current team all they could handle today in the FSU Stadium.  A great pass by Kelsi Folch put Dani Ferris into great space and she finished the goal nicely for the narrow 1-0 win for the active roster.  The alumni team hit the post on a corner late but could not get the equalizer.  At one point the game featured 3 conference Players of the Year and 10 All-Conference players. 
The picture here is of our very successful Relay for Life team on Friday night.  Once again, FSUWS raised more than any other athletic team and ranked 7th among all campus groups in the 2016 FSU Relay.

Alumni Game and Relay for Life!

A great weekend Coming Up!
Friday at 6pm is the Annual FSU Relay for Life event when we get to show our support for the fight against cancer.  We'll walk and also do a 3v3 tournament in the lower gym starting about 6:30.

On Saturday at 2:00pm, we'll host an Alumni game in the FSU Stadium with a social event to follow.   Alumni, Friends, and Family are all welcome to the game and reception.  Always a beautiful day for soccer at FSU!
