A Great Spring Season!

Our players had an awesome Spring! Our first 'normal' Spring season since moving up to Division 2. We got to play some really competitive games in a full semester of the expanded training model we really love about the D2 change. Our team was also studying hard of course and doing things like going to campus shows and plays and being great teammate.

Real Spring Games!

A big change our players have really enjoyed since moving to Division 2 is playing more real Spring season games!  We're allowed 5 of them now and are excited to play some teams we would not ever face now in the Fall.  We'll play teams from each of the 3 NCAA Divisions.  Here's our Spring Schedule:

Great start to 2022!

Our team has had a terrific start to the Spring 22 semester.  We've played lots of Futsal for our indoor season and below are the 2 Seasonal team champions.  Team USA won our Apertura Season tournament and Team Peru won the 2nd half or Clausura Season championship.   We did a local clinic for National Girls and Women in Sports Day and we've gotten outside a bit as well to prepare for our Spring Outdoor season.  A special shoutout to our awesome Athletic Trainer, Hillary Jones, for Nationals Athletic Trainer Month 2022.  Thanks for all you do!

What a Year!

Our Senior Class had a busy 2021.  Playing a covid shortened Spring season and then our first full Fall season since 2019.   Not sure we will ever again have an opportunity to win 2 regular-season titles in one calendar year!  An unprecedented and history year.

Homecoming and the Hall of Fame!

We've had a good run of form and have stayed atop the MEC North table.   Homecoming was especially important for us this year as Amy Foote became only the 2nd FSUWS player to enter the FSU Athletics Hall of Fame!  Congrats Amy!  Here she is with our current Senior Class on a visit to our team room on the evening of her induction.

Good Start to MEC Play

After a tough home loss to Concord, we’ve won 2 games on the road to secure 6 points in the MEC conference standings.  These first round games against our North Division opponents help really set the stage for an exciting conference season.   2 big home games coming up!

What a Year!

So proud of all our players and what this team has accomplished. Just a huge step forward for our program.  Finished 2nd in the MEC and hosted an MEC Semifinal game, Nationally Ranked as high as #15, allowed only 5 goals in 9 games and only 1 in our final 5 games of the 20-21 season.  Junior Audra Curtin led our team in scoring and was named the FSU Female Athlete of the Year!

We are so grateful for the opportunity to play a competitive season this spring and need to thank so many who made it happen.  Our Frostburg State President and Athletic Director, the FSU Sports Information staff, and all our hard working Athletic Trainers, especially Hillary Jones.  So many at the MEC and on all our conference campuses that kept us playing and playing safely this year  THANK YOU!
