2024 Seniors!

We recently celebrated the 2024 season and the careers of 7 very special people and players!  These Bobcats won 4 consecutive MEC North Division Championships!  They were always on the 1st-Place team over their 4 year careers. Congratulations!

 Another great schedule sees us visit the MD Soccerplex twice early in the season.  Note Homecoming is 10/20 and Senior Day is 11/2.

 Our favorite game of the year is when Alumni visit to play, meet the new team, and visit with each other.  Lots of baby Bobcats around these days!

Homecoming!

So exciting to see Lauren Russell '10 inducted into the Frostburg Athletics Hall of Fame!  She scored 64 goals in her 4-year career and is among the very best soccer players to ever wear the uniform.  She was both a Conference Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year making All-Conference teams in 2 different conferences over all 4 of her years at FSU.   Our current Seniors are shown here with Lauren and a few teammates at the ceremony.

 

Great Season Start Up!

After a great preseason with 2 scrimmages in Frostburg, we played well in our D2 in the DMV Showcase games winning both contests at the MD Soccerplex stadium.   We start MEC play with a big conference game at home and start our 2-games-a-week routine next week.  A Conference Player of the Week Honor for Cat Smith and our debut in the United Soccer Coaches National Poll at #21 were nice recognitions of our strong start.

Annual Awards!

FSUWS was named "Program of the Year" at the Annual FSU Athletics 'Burg Awards. The first FSU team to compete in the NCAA Championship Tournament in the D2 era.  Congrats! 

Spring Time!

Our alumni game is at home on Saturday, April 29th at 7:00, after our men's game. 

Hall of Famer!

Forward, Lauren Russell, FSU Class of 2011, will be inducted into our FSU Athletics Hall of Fame in October.  Lauren scored 64 career goals with 39 assists and was a 4-Time All-Conference player.  She was both a Conference Rookie of the Year and then Player of the Year.   The picture below of her after scoring a golden goal to win a conference tournament championship in our own stadium in 2009 is truly priceless.  What a wonderful person and player!   Congrats Lauren!
