It's Tournament Time!

Our field and our team are ready to play tomorrow as York visits at 4:00 for the CAC Semifinal.  In spite of the effects of Hurricane Sandy, we've been able to get in good training sessions and are ready to go!

Terrific Finish to Conference Play

On Friday night, we secured a bye and home game in our conference tournament and will host a CAC Semifinal at FSU on Tuesday, October 30th against the winner of York/Wesley.  We won our 12th game of 2012 on an unusual night that featured trains, planes, monuments, a rainbow, a downpour, a lightning delay, and fortunately lots of FSU goals as 7 different players scored in our final conference game at Marymount. Steph Fazenbaker had an amazing night assisting 4 goals in a row before scoring the 5th herself.  If you look really closely at the photo below, you'll see the Washington Monument across the Potomac from the park where we played in Arlington, Virginia.  We are playing very well at the right time of year and look forward to extending our season as long as possible into November.

Big Conference Win at Home

It was our center mids who delivered tonight as we jumped over York in the CAC standings with a 2-1 home win. Courtney Mack pushed in the ball after a great run by Stephanie Fazenbaker then Brooke Longo found the upper 90 from 30 yards for the game winner. We have earned at least one home game in the CAC Tournament and finish conference play on Friday at Marymount in Arlington VA.
The Friday game is at 7pm and will be played at:
Long Bridge Park  400 Long Bridge Dr - Arlington, Virginia

Big Senior Day Win!

Our Seniors, and our entire team, performed well at home for our Senior Day this year as we climbed the conference standings with a 6-0 win over Wesley.  We are now 10-3-1 and have a huge CAC contest on Wednesday as we host York at 6pm in a game that will largely determine our place in the final conference standings and our post-season tournament.

Traveling in Style

We try to take time on our away trips to visit places and do things we don't normally get to do during the busy Fall soccer season.  Last Friday night, our players won a few prizes at the Ocean City Boardwalk...

...and we love to travel in style on the FSU coach.  Our players get notes and texts from people all the time as they see our bus traveling the region with our sports teams aboard.

Competing for a Title

Our weekend trip did not go exactly as planned but we've learned some valuable lessons about our team.  Competing for the CAC Title will not be easy but we now know that we are certainly capable of winning it and that we'll be tough to beat for any team in the conference.  It's clear that teams are scouting us well and game planning for our strengths and that's a terrific compliment.  The home stretch of our conference schedule will be exciting as we compete for a high seed and home games in the CAC tournament.

Big Home Win

6 different players scored in a big home win tonight against a future CAC opponent in Southern Virginia.  Several of the goals are in the YouTube clip linked on the right side of this page.  Our important visit to our cross-state rivals is set for Saturday at Noon.
