A Great Relay and Alumni Game!

The best alumni team to return to FSU in recent years gave the current team all they could handle today in the FSU Stadium.  A great pass by Kelsi Folch put Dani Ferris into great space and she finished the goal nicely for the narrow 1-0 win for the active roster.  The alumni team hit the post on a corner late but could not get the equalizer.  At one point the game featured 3 conference Players of the Year and 10 All-Conference players.
The picture here is of our very successful Relay for Life team on Friday night.  Once again, FSUWS raised more than any other athletic team and ranked 7th among all campus groups in the 2016 FSU Relay.

Spring Game!

On Saturday, April 23rd, we traveled to Shippensburg University to kickoff a Spring Game at Noon.  The D2 PSAC team is a frequent opponent for both Fall and Spring friendlies and always provide good competitive games and Saturday was no different.   All of our players played significant minutes on a beautiful day for soccer and we prevailed 1-0.  Kelsi Folch fired a perfect shot into the upper corner of the goal mid-way through the first half and that goal held up.  Great chances throughout the game came from Jessi Martz, Melissa Krofcheck, Katie Broadhurst, and Brooke Longo.  Ship turned on some late pressure but our back line and goalkeepers were terrific and we got the shutout.

Our Alumni game next Saturday the 30th at 2pm will conclude our Spring season.

Our First Hall of Famer!

Karen Kotofski was one of the most prolific goal scorers in NCAA history.  She scored 20 goals a year over her 4 years totaling 83 collegiate goals winning 4 Conference Titles.   That's 30 MORE goals scored then the next closest goal scorer in FSU soccer history, men's or women's.   She is very properly the first-ever FSU Women's Soccer Hall of Fame inductee and will be honored at the annual Hall of Fame Banquet at FSU on Friday October 21st.    Shown here (#4) with her Senior Class, one of most successful in FSU Soccer history.
