Home Win and Weekly Honors

Brooke Shehade earned her first, and our team's first, Player of the Week honor from our new conference, the Mountain East.  Press releases are at FrostburgSports.com and the MountainEast.org site.  Here's how she did it:

Great Home Start to MEC Play!

Wednesday night we opened play in our new conference, the Mountain East, with a 6-2 win.  Brooke Shehade had a hat-trick and Audra Curtin added 2 in a solid home performance.  Our first win in NCAA Division 2 and we hope many more to come.

Great Florida Trip!

We had a great trip to Florida this weekend for a game at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg Beach.  We stayed at a beach front hotel and all our travel logistics went well.   We didn't get the result we wanted but the game was competitive and we scored a terrific goal.  It's on our IG page and linked on twitter as well.

A Great Start to 2019!

We've had a great start to our 2019 season!  In our first competitive action of 2019, we defeated a spirited Hood College team 4-1 as Senior Brooke Shehade scored a brace and first-year's Marley Copes and Anna Moyer each added a goal.   Classes begin this week and we'll visit Cal U in PA next Friday night for our second game of the preseason.

It was a great semester for FSUWS!

Congratulations on a terrific semester FSUWS!
A 3.669 GPA with 14 players earning 4.0s is our best semester ever in the classroom!
An unbelievable achievement. #FSUWS #SmartWomen #HowItsDone

Bobcats.....for Life!

It really is true that once you've worn the jersey and certainly, when you graduate, you'll be a Bobcat for Life.   We had a great finish to our Spring semester as we had 5 players earn Bachelor's Degrees, an assistant coach, Jen Nance earned a Masters, and a recent alum, Cassie Donahue, earned a Doctorate!  Rising Senior, Gwen Schemm, was also named the FSU Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year. #SmartWomenRock

Happy Seniors!

Alumni Game and Relay

This is a wonderful and meaningful weekend to finish our Spring season here at FSU!   On Friday night our team was once again the top fundraising team at FSU, adding nearly $3,000 to the FSU Relay for Life total for the signature American Cancer Society fundraising event.   On Saturday, perhaps our best collection of FSUWS graduates visited Bobcat stadium for our annual Alumni Game and weekend. There was some debate on the goal count with the Alumni team claiming a 1-0 victory while the current team insists it was a 1-1 draw!   Can't wait for next year's game.

It's really nice to finally get outside and start our Spring season.  The team is working hard and looking to make 2019 and our transition to a new conference in Division 2 special.   As you can see, it's always a beautiful day for soccer here at the 'burg!
