Players - Past, Present, and Future!

Our Alumni Game Saturday was spirited and fun! The Alumni team did score 2 on the day but over the course of the match, the current team put 6 total goals in to show what quality players we have on the active roster.   Some of our prospective players visited to watch the game as well so players in this photo span freshmen soccer classes from 2016 to 2004!

It's Always a Beautiful Day for Soccer in Frostburg!

Relay for Life 2015

Relay for Life is an awesome and powerful fundraiser for the American Cancer Society that our team takes seriously each Spring.  Here at FSU, Sophomore Kelsi Folch was the individual campus leader in fundraising this year with over $1,000 collected.  Our team was once again the best fundraising athletic team at FSU with over 2K raised for Relay through on-line donations and our 3v3 Tournament held during the event.  RelayForLife.org/FSUMD

Spring Progress

We played a very good competitive Shippensburg team on a beautiful day for soccer in the FSU Stadium on Sunday.  Despite conceding a slight possession advantage over the course of 90 minutes, we got a few better chances to score including the best chance when Erin Worthman used her pace to get to the endline and served a ball into the lap of Chelsie McCoy for the only goal of the game.  Every player on the roster made a good contribution and our progress this Spring was pretty evident by the end of the day.

Celebrating a Championship!

Lots of fun things happen when you win Conference Championships!  One is getting cool stuff to celebrate and commemorate the game and season and that particular Senior Class.   The players chose this ring style this year.

So What's a Frostburg Degree Worth?

This is an important and valuable question.  As an affordable State school, we often make the case that our graduates do have as many options and can fulfill their dreams and career ambitions after graduation, just as well as students that attend far more expensive schools.
Well, all 21 of our program's recent graduates have been eligible to attend graduate schools or earned immediate employment in the field of their choice.   Here's a sampling of our most recent graduating class of FSU Women's Soccer players from 2014:

Adria Graham: Graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Major in Athletic Training and is attending Chatham University in their Master's of Physician Assistant Program.
Chelsea Paskowski: Graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Major in Exercise and Sport Science and Spanish Minor.  She will attend Boston University enrolled in their Doctor of Physical Therapy Program.
Kyrsten Buck: Graduated a semester early with a Major in Business Administration/Marketing and is now the Laboratory Product Manager for The Scale People, a maker of precision measurement instruments.
Courtney Mack: Graduated Summa Cum Laude and with Department Honors with a Major in Exercise and Sport Science and will enroll in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at the University of South Florida.

A Beautiful Winter Day!

If you like the change of seasons, we have that at Frostburg State! Our first day back for the Spring semester....a snow day!  We only got a few inches of snow from the big 'blizzard of 2015' but it was just enough for a day off. This top photo is the Upper Quad and comes from our Facebook Page.

A Great Season and Semester!

We really did have a great 2014 season and semester and these numbers are really what matters.
Our team GPA was a 3.365 for the Fall Semester.
3 players earned perfect 4.0s- Kelsey Wentworth, AJ Malanik, and Melanie Bell
5 more had only 1 "B" grade and 22 of our 26 rostered players achieved at least a 3.0 GPA in the Fall semester.

Frostburg State is recruiting great students and producing graduates that have all the graduate school and professional options they could hope for.  The evidence is clear year after year.

Wishing everyone in the #BobcatNation a great Holiday and New Year!

Happy Holidays!

Some of our players, also elementary education majors, participated in Frostburg's Storybook Holiday.  A special community holiday event for children in the Frostburg Area.  They dressed as Elves for a breakfast event and participated in some 'Elf Olympics' to entertain the kids.
