The FSU Women's Soccer Team has just had another outstanding semester in the classroom!
FSU players this Spring collectively earned a 3.571 semester GPA that will easily qualify the team for the NSCAA Team Academic Award for a 5th
year in a row. The 3.571 is one of our highest ever team marks based on the strength of 6 players earning
perfect 4.0s! 4 more players earned 3.7 or better GPA's with only
1 B grade this Spring. That means these 10 players earned a combined
38 "A" grades in 42 total classes this semester. All our players should be very proud of their commitment to academic and athletic excellence here at FSU!
A special congratulations and best wishes to our Seniors! Shown here at our Sr luncheon last week.
Welcome!
This is a journal of what's happening in the FSU Women's Soccer program at Frostburg State. Thanks for checking in and for your interest in FSU Women's Soccer!

Spring Games and Relay for Life
We did very well on Sunday playing Shippensburg to a 1-1 draw before dropping a 1-0 contest to Millersville. We defended well and created good chances to score against both Division 2 PSAC teams and it was the perfect kind of competition for us at this stage in the year. Everyone left Sunday feeling great about the growth of our team and the upcoming Fall season.
One of the most meaningful days of our year is the Relay for Life fundraiser we participate in at FSU. It begins at 6pm this Friday night in our Stadium as we help our campus raise thousands of dollars for the American Cancer Society. Click here to help our cause or learn more:

Spring Season 2012
FSU will play 2 teams in a Spring Play Day at Shippenburg in their soccer stadium on Sunday, April 22nd:
11:30 vs Shippensburg and 2:30 vs Millersville
In the meantime, the team is training in our Stadium 3 times a week but also participating in lots of campus events. For FSU's "D-III week", the team did a photo scavenger hunt and took some pictures:

New CCIT Building Well Underway
Our newest campus building is in progress and will be an awesome addition. Replacing Tawes Hall in the center of campus, the new CCIT will house the Departments of Communications and Computer Science as well as many computer labs, classrooms, the FSU TV3 Station Studio and the WFWM Campus Radio Station. It will also have a rooftop greenhouse and gardens visible from other buildings on campus.

2011 ECAC South Champions!
Our 2011 Season ended Sunday with a big home win to capture the 2011 ECAC South Championship! Liz Seligman, our all-conference right back, hit a wonder goal from 30 yards after running with the ball for 60. [Check our YouTube channel on the right of this page] Stevenson is a very good team that pressured us throughout the game but both our back line defending and goalkeeping were terrific.
It was our 12th shutout as we finished the year with a 17-2-2 record.
The Cumberland Times News covered our game and included this photo of Liz running to score the game winner on Sunday.

Playing for a Championship on Sunday!
We had a terrific burst of offense against Altoona and won 5-1 today in the ECAC Semifinals here at FSU. As a result, we'll host the ECAC South Region Final at Noon on Sunday against our conference rivals from Stevenson. It's the 3rd time in 4 years, we've hosted the ECAC Final and hope to prevail at home here in 2011.
