Karen Kotofski was one of the most prolific goal scorers in NCAA history. She scored 20 goals a year over her 4 years totaling 83 collegiate goals winning 4 Conference Titles. That's 30 MORE goals scored then the next closest goal scorer in FSU soccer history, men's or women's. She is very properly the first-ever FSU Women's Soccer Hall of Fame inductee and will be honored at the annual Hall of Fame Banquet at FSU on Friday October 21st. Shown here (#4) with her Senior Class, one of most successful in FSU Soccer history.

Winter in Western Maryland!
If you don't like nature or the change of seasons, you don't come to a college like Frostburg! The Ski Season is finally awesome at all the nearby resorts and our campus is beautiful in the winter. And we are still in the Mid-Atlantic region. So, if you don't like the weather, just wait a few weeks! But in the meantime, enjoy the slopes....

High Achievers! at FSU!
When grades are posted each semester, we are reminded what smart and committed players we have here playing soccer at FSU.
Our team just achieved one of the highest ever team GPA's in our team history - a Fall semester 3.469 Team GPA. 7 of our players earned a perfect 4.0 GPA - Brooke Longo, Erin Worthman, Melanie Bell, AJ Malanik, Kourtney McLain, Haley Dalphon, and Dani Ferris. 3 more players earned only 1 "B" grade for the semester - Abby Aposporos, Kelsey Wentworth, and Rhianna Lapen. 21 of our 25 players earned a 3.0 or better GPA. Congratulations to these players!
Frostburg State is fielding a highly competitive women's soccer team while producing graduates with every option they could hope for with a college degree.

Fall in Frostburg
Sometimes you just need to look up and appreciate what Western Maryland looks like this time of year. This is what you see right outside our PE Center and the soccer office.

Sometimes it hurts
As much as we love the beautiful game of soccer, competitive sports can certainly be cruel at times. Of course, the thrill of competition is that you don't really know the outcome but only realize you have to perform at a high level to be successful. Saturday, we did not play well enough to outscore an athletic and physical team from York and did not advance in the CAC Tournament. After going down by 2 goals and losing our Sr goalkeeper to injury, our players rallied and dominated the game for the final 30 minutes. We forced a goal-line save and another point-blank save but could not put a ball in the goal. We'll regroup and start looking forward to next year a bit earlier than we're used to but we will also celebrate and remember the outstanding careers of our 7-member Senior Class.
